A commercial opportunity should never determine a favourable conclusion or conceal an important limitation.
How topics are selected
We choose topics because they answer a practical creator question or remove friction from a real workflow. Search demand can help us understand language and unmet needs, but it does not replace usefulness. A product is not included simply because it is popular, new or commercially attractive.
How tools and services are assessed
Coverage considers the job a product performs, intended user, learning curve, workflow fit, data portability, pricing context, limitations and credible alternatives. Recommendations should describe fit rather than invent a universal winner.
Research and evidence
Time-sensitive claims should be checked against official product pages, documentation, programme terms or public authorities. Secondary sources may add context but should not override a more authoritative source. Where testing is limited or a conclusion is editorial judgement, the language should not imply certainty the evidence cannot support.
Links and commercial relationships
XLCreator currently uses informational links to help readers verify products and programmes. If a page later contains an affiliate link, sponsorship, gifted access or another material relationship, it should be disclosed clearly near the relevant content. Compensation will not guarantee inclusion, ranking or positive coverage.
Independence and conflicts
Providers do not control XLCreator conclusions. Free access may make evaluation possible but does not create an obligation to publish. Any meaningful relationship that could reasonably affect a reader’s interpretation should be disclosed.
Updates, dates and corrections
Products and rules change. Important pages carry review dates where appropriate. When a verified error could affect a creator’s decision, we aim to correct it promptly and update the surrounding explanation.
